Red-eyed Damselfly Erythromma najas (Hansemann, 1823)
Status ..... Most common in the south of the county, but known from the Idle Valley NR since 2012 (Bradford, A. & Bradford, P.) and so must be present at other sites along the Trent Valley. Red-eyed Damselfly is common at Attenborough NR and also known from Bennerley Marsh and Netherfield Ash Lagoons, but likely to be much more widespread, despite large gaps in the distribution maps provided on the NBN Gateway. The following photographs, were kindly supplied for inclusion by Pauline Bradford.
