Micromus angulatus (Stephens, 1836) 
This is one of a number of species which are typically referred to as Brown Lacewings. Identification is difficult (as with the majority of Lacewings) as there are other species which are very similar. Micromus angulatus is not a common species based on county records, as there appear to be no previous Nottinghamshire records and UK records are fairly thinly scattered. But Neuroptera are another much under-recorded Order in VC56. The one below, was recorded at Clipstone Old Quarter in June 2024.
