Gibbaranea gibbosa (Walckenaer, 1802)
A very distinctive and attractively marked spider, found on trees and bushes where it constructs an orb-web. Although widespread, this is not a common species and there are relatively few Sherwood Forest records. This Gibbaranea gibbosa was found on Pine at Budby South Forest in May 2010.
