Brown Heath Robberfly Machimus cingulatus (Fabricius, 1781)
Based soley on the records we have, this Robberfly is confined to a few heathland sites in Nottinghamshire. There are a number of records from Sherwood Heath near Ollerton (inlcuding the one showed here in July 2021) from Rainworth Heath NR, Cumber Park and Spalford Warren NR. For some reason there are no records from Budby South Forest, although it obviously occurs there.
