November 12th Lound Wood
Summary : Overcast and windy (trapping site sheltered) Mild with occasional light rain. Catch consisted of 33 moths of nine species in 1h 00m trapping time (20:05-21:05h) Temperature 7C. Caloptilia elongella was new to the area.
         
October 30th Lound Wood
Summary : Clear, windy (trapping site sheltered) and fairly mild. Catch consisted of 86 moths of 13 species in 2h 00m trapping time (19:30-21:30h) Temperature 10C. Only with the trapping site sheltered, could a this number of moths be taken. There was a second area record of December Moth, but moths of the night were the two immaculate A. cristana.
 
October 29th Lound Wood
Summary : Overcast and fairly mild. Catch consisted of 25 moths of just five species in 1h 15m trapping time (21:20-21:35h) Temperature 9C.
 
October 28th Red Hill
Summary : Overcast, mild and windy. Catch consisted of five moths of just four species in 0h 45m trapping time (20:45-21:30h) Temperature 13C.
 
October 27th Lound Wood
Summary : Cloud clearing, breezy. Catch consisted of 21 moths of just five species in 1h 40m trapping time (19:20-21:00h) Temperature dropping to 7C. A small catch, but the first record of Autumnal Moth for the area.
 
October 25th Lound Wood
Summary : Overcast and mild. Catch consisted of 70 moths of nine species in 1h 30m trapping time (23:30-01:00h) Temperature only dropping to 11C.
 
October 24th Lound Wood
Summary : Clear and cool. Catch consisted of 89 moths of 11 species in 2h 30m trapping time (18:30-21:00h) Temperature down to 6C. A surprising catch considering the low temperature. Another 2nd brood Buff Footman and L. formosanus.
 
October 23rd Lound Wood
Summary : Partially overcast and quite cool, but feeling milder. Catch consisted of 20 moths of three species in 1h 00m trapping time (20:15-21:15h) Temperature 7.5C. Only a small catch, but December Moth was another new species for the area.

October 21st Lound Wood
Summary : Clear and fairly mild. Catch consisted of 66 moths of seven species in 2h 00m trapping time (21:05-23.05:h) Temperature 9.5C.

Summary : Overcast with occasional light rain developing. Catch consisted of 37 moths of just six species in 1h 15m trapping time (20:55-22:10h) Temperature 12C.

Summary : Partly overcast and fairly mild. Catch consisted of 84 moths of 14 species in 1h 30m trapping time (21:45-23:15h) Temperature 10C.
 
October 18th Hare Hill Wood
Summary : Lightly overcast, mild but feeling cooler in easterly breeze. Catch consisted of 34 moths of 13 species in 1h 45m trapping time (18:45-20:30h) Temperature 11C. A first trapping session at the area's other main woodland, produced good numbers of Acleris sparsana and new moths in the form of Sprawler and Ypsolopha ustella.

Summary : Overcast, mild and breezy. Catch consisted of 32 moths of just seven species in 1h 30m trapping time (19:10-20:40h) Temperature 10C.
 
October 16th Lound Wood
Summary : Overcast and mild. Catch consisted of 60 moths of 14 species in 2h 00m trapping time (19:15-21:15h) Temperature 10C.

October 14th Lound Wood
Summary : Lightly overcast and mild. Catch consisted of 112 moths of 25 species in 3h 15m trapping time (19:00-22:15h) Temperature 11.5C.
 
October 13th Lound Wood
Summary : Clear, fairly mild and occasionally misty. Catch consisted of 92 moths of 23 species in 3h 00m trapping time (19:40-22:40h) Temperature 9C. A trapping session which proved to be much better than expected with the conditions. Four species of migrants included another Rusty Dot Pearl and Dark Sword-grass, but highlight of the catch was the area's second Pale Pinion, which looks to be Nottinghamshire's third-ever record. The first was also taken here back in April 2006. An unusual second brood of Buff Footman was also evident, with all three taken being in immaculate condition.

Summary : Clear and fairly mild. Catch consisted of 43 moths of 15 species in 1h 30m trapping time (19:00-20:30h) Temperature 12.5C.
 
October 11th Red Hill
Summary : Overcast with cloud slowly clearing and mild. Heavy rain during much of the day. Catch consisted of 50 moths of 15 species in 1h 35m trapping time (22:25-00:00h) Temperature 12.5C. Catch produced a second site record of Beaded Chestnut and another two Dark Chestnut.
 
October 10th Lound Wood
Summary : Clear and mild, becoming cloudy. Catch consisted of 113 moths of 22 species in 3h 00m trapping time (19:45-22:45h) Temperature 13C, rising to 14.5C.
 
October 7th Lound Wood
Summary : Clear and mild, becoming cloudy with rain. Catch consisted of 65 moths of 17 species in 2h 10m trapping time (19:10-21:20h) Temperature 12C. Unusual second broods of Riband Wave and Small Fan-footed Wave evident.

Summary : Clear and fairly mild. Catch consisted of 19 moths of six species in 2h 00m trapping time (19:25-21:25h) Temperature dropping quickly to 8C.

Summary : Generally clear skies, mild and breezy. Catch consisted of 41 moths of 22 species in 2h 00m trapping time (19:40-21:40h) Temperature 15 C.

Summary : Generally clear skies and mild. Catch consisted of 19 moths of 16 species in 2h 00m trapping time (19:40-21:40h) Temperature 16C.
 
September 25th Lound Wood
Summary : Overcast with light rain and mild. Catch consisted of 46 moths of 23 species in 1h 00m trapping time (19:35-20:35h) Temperature 16C.
 
September 24th Red Hill
Summary : Becoming clear and mild. Catch consisted of 64 moths of 25 species in 2h 00m trapping time (19:50-21:50h) Temperature 16-15C. Another night which produced yet more Rush Veneers and a single Pearly Underwing, which was new for the area. As skies started to clear, few moths were noted during the last 40 minutes of the session.
 
September 23rd Lound Wood
Summary : Clear, becoming cloudy. Mild. Catch consisted of 141 moths of 42 species in 3h 00m trapping time (19:35-22:35h) Temperature 16C. A session to mark National Moth Night 2006, was rewarded by another batch of migrants. Five Rush Veneer, four Silver Y, two Scarce Bordered Straw and a single Diamond-back moth represented the migrants, whilst new moths for the area included Merveille du Jour, V-Pug, Beaded Chestnut and the Pyralid, Orthopygia glaucinalis. Throughout the trapping session, many of the moths came in to the light from the south-west.

September 21st Lound Wood
Summary : Clear, windy and warm. Catch consisted of 108 moths of 31 species in 3h 00m trapping time (20:25-23:25h) Temperature 20C-18C. Three new species for the area were trapped and counts were almost certainly affected by the breezy conditions.
 
September 17th Lound Wood
Summary : Partially overcast and very mild. Catch consisted of 60 moths of 20 species in 1h 45m trapping time (20:45-22:30h) Temperature dropping to 13.5.C. Although not a brilliant catch in terms of numbers, the night still produced three new species for the area, with the highlight being a single migrant Small Mottled Willow, along with Deep Brown Dart and Dusky Thorn.
 
September 16th Lound Wood
Summary : Partially overcast and very mild. Conditions slightly misty at times. Catch consisted of 104 moths of 38 species in 3h 30m trapping time (20:00-23:30h) Temperature dropping to 16.C. A good night's trapping, with the trap being left unmanned for over an hour at one stage. Dark Sword-grass continues the recent run of migrants over the past few days.

Summary : Clear and mild, with a slight breeze. Catch consisted of just 27 moths of 16 species in 1h 30m trapping time (20:30-22:00h) Temperature dropping to 16.C. A very poor night, in complete contrast to thae session of September 12th. Barred Sallow was the first since record since 2003.
 
September 12th Red Hill
Summary : Partly overcast and warm. Catch consisted of 183 moths of 35 species in 3h 00m trapping time (20:15-23:15h) with one moth still awaiting ID. Temperature only dropping to 18.C. A fabulous evening's trapping with five migrants species, of which three were new for the area (Rush Veneer, Vestal and Euchromius ocellea) A third Scarce Bordered Straw helped to maintain the run of rare migrants over the past few nights.
