Ilybius ater (De Geer, 1774)
A regularly encountered water beetle, recorded frequently at MV light traps even when operated well away from obvious water sources. They can be seen in flight on warm evenings, such as this specimen was at Coultas Farm, Eakring in June 2009. Length 13mm.
